Christel
Voirol is a self-taught glass artist. She designs and creates both
usefull and decorative glass objects, using the techniques called
"fusing"&"slumping".
In summary, the fusing is to assemble pieces of glass and bring them
to melting temperature, about 800 ° C, in a special oven. To achieve
the slumping, she use ceramic or steel molds to shape the objects.
An
internship in an art school in Denmark allowed her to discover the
magic of glass, an art that has since turned into a passion.
" Glass is a beautiful and fascinating material to work, with
a wide range of possibilities. An extraordinary challenge. "
Christel now shares a small atelier with her husband, the painter
Thierry Voirol, in the old town of La Neuveville in Switzerland.
